David Groeschl [rhymes with “special”] is Idaho State Forester and Deputy Director of the Idaho Department of Lands.

One of seven children, he grew up near Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where his father worked as a machinist for Giddings and Lewis, a storied manufacturer of industrial automation products that cut its teeth on saw-milling equipment and steam engines before the Civil War.
