GNA Learning Series: Case Studies

Session Overview The WFLC Good Neighbor Authority (GNA) Virtual Learning Series will close with a session dedicated to GNA case studies from the west. Attendees will hear two presentations regarding GNA projects in Washington and Wyoming. Featured Speakers: Laura Wagner, Council of Western State Foresters & Wyoming State Forestry Division Trevor McConchie, Washington State Department of Natural Resources Audience Western state forestry agency, Forest Service, and BLM representatives with GNA responsibilities are invited to register for this learning series. GNA responsibilities may involve strategic development of the Authority within the state or federal agency, decision-making capacity for agreements and projects, financial management duties, and designing GNA agreements and projects. Western Forestry Leadership Coalition (WFLC) members are also invited to attend.  For non-state or federal agency individuals interested in participating, please contact Kelsey Delaney. Registration There is no registration fee for this learning series. Space is limited for each session, and WFLC strongly encourages attendees to only register for the sessions they plan to attend.  Wednesday, October 14, 2020, 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm MDT Session Overview This learning session will focus on the financial management elements pertaining to the Good Neighbor Authority (GNA). State forestry agency and USDA Forest Service (Forest Service) representatives will share an overview of the requirements for GNA financial plans and associated reporting, explore possible variances in financial plans and when and why to modify them, and discuss state and federal agency staff responsibilities.
