Olivia Oliver
Olivia Oliver joined the Council of Western State Foresters (CWSF) and the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition (WFLC) as a Communications Intern in June 2026.
Olivia is a rising junior at the University of Oregon, majoring in Public Relations with minors in Environmental Studies and Science Communication. At school, she writes feature stories for the school magazine (Align Magazine), designs a monthly newsletter for her sorority, and serves as a member of the PR team for the Be Positive Committee (a foundation that raises money for children with childhood cancer). Through her courses, she has learned the importance of intentional and digestible language within science communications, and is eager to apply her experiences and skills with CWSF.
Within a forest and under a canopy of trees is where Olivia feels most at peace. Being born and raised in Portland, Oregon she has spent her whole life exploring the beauty of the state, from the Columbia River Gorge to the coastline. Having fostered a connection with the outdoors (through hiking, camping, rock climbing) and an appreciation for forests, she has found a calling in effectively and strategically communicating about the issues facing forests in the West today.
Olivia is excited to work with CWSF and strengthen her science communication skills.
