What was your first position in the field of forestry?

Forestry Extension Aide I

How long have you been in your role?

Three years

What do you enjoy most about being a member of the Pacific Islands Forestry Committee?

The opportunity of sharing, exchanging, and experiencing issues or ideas with team members from my island and across the Pacific. This committee has brought so much support to the division as well as the island of Palau throughout the years. The forest has brought together people from different regions which I am truly grateful for.

What do you see to be the emerging issues in your island?

Extreme weather changes, I have noticed the rainy days are longer, which causes more soil erosions and landslides, occasional dry seasons that attract burning in savanna areas, sea level rise has also been occurring creating coastal erosions.

What is your favorite hobby?

Palauan Name: Ukall, Scientific Name: Serianthes kanehirae
